Maps

Since 1867, the Sanborn Map Company has produced 700,000 sheets of detailed maps for 12,000 cities and towns in North America.  Using these maps, insurance companies could learn the hazards and risks of specific properties during their underwriting process.  These maps are used by genealogists and historians to learn more about historical properties and the people who inhabited them.

The Dougherty County Courthouse is located on Pine Avenue in between Washington Street and Jackson Street.  The Post Office and former Federal Courthouse is on Broad Avenue in between Jackson Street and Jefferson Street.  The C.B. King Federal Courthouse is at the corner of West Broad Avenue and North Washington Street.
