Live Oak Public Libraries presents this exhibit as part of the Georgia Public Library Service (GPLS) Digital Exhibits Program. The objective of the program is to empower libraries to use their unique digitized materials to tell the stories of their libraries and communities. Using the Omeka S platform, Live Oak Public Libraries has curated this online local exhibit using content already available in the Digital Library of Georgia (DLG).

Live Oak Public Libraries greatly appreciates the cooperation of the City of Savannah Municipal Archives, The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation, and Ellie Isaacs in providing some images and permissions for this exhibit.

This site was created by Live Oak Public Libraries with support from the Georgia Public Library Service, using Library Service and Technology Act funding provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
