Milledgeville, 1894. Center Building at State Lunatic Asylum, now known as Central State Hospital. The building is today known as the Powell Building, probably named for Dr. Theophilus Orgain Powell who was superintendent 1879-1907. Note summerhouse in front. Bands often used it when they entertained for the patients. Powell Building built in 1850s with later additions.
